The Avon Valley Railway Heritage Trust is the umbrella body responsible for the railway, cares for the historic locomotives, rolling stock and other heritage assets.  The Board of Trustees approve the strategic direction of the organisation as a whole.

The Avon Valley Railway Company Limited is a wholly-owned trading subsidiary, created to manage the day to day operations and commercial business of the railway.  A Board of Directors provides oversight of these activities.  All profits are gifted to the Heritage Trust at the end of each financial year.
