Information collection and use
General
Avon Valley Railway collects personal information whenever a user chooses to contact us via the web form within the contact us section. When contacting us using this method we ask for information such as your name, e-mail address and telephone number. Avon Valley Railway automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, Avon Valley Railway cookie information, and the page you request.
We use information for the following general purposes: to customise the content you see, fulfil your requests and for technical web site administration purposes.
When you make a purchase of online tickets for any of our special events, dining or Santa trains using the Avon Valley Railway website you will be taken to a third party ticketing provider Quaytickets. Quaytickets is a trading division of The Lowry Centre Ltd, The Lowry, Pier 8, Salford Quays, M50 3AZ. Registered in England No. 3255905. Their privacy and data management policy can be viewed at https://www.quaytickets.com.
Data supplied to Quaytickets may be transferred to the Avon Valley Railway to keep you informed of other events and activities which might interest you (if consent has been actively given by the customer). Marketing would take the form of communication by email only. You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
CCTV data collection
• CCTV Is in use in outside areas on AVR Property
• The CCTV in use is owned and operated by the AVRCo and AVRHT
• CCTV is used in the pursuance of:
o to act as a deterrent to thieves.
o to provide evidence to allow prosecution should theft, vandalism or any other criminal activity.
o to provide evidence to support any operational or HSE incident on the railway to allow lessons to be learnt to improve safety at the railway.
• CCTV images are only retained for up to 30 days, unless a Subject Access Request has been made which requires the retention of such images.

• The AVR takes the privacy of customers and the wider public very seriously, and a range of robust policies, processes and technical measures are in place to control and safeguard access to, and use of, personal data associated with our surveillance camera systems.
Information sharing and disclosure
We do not rent, sell or share personal information about you with other people or non affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission.
CCTV data sharing and disclosure
• The CCTV Data may be shared with the following stakeholders should they have legitimate claim to view the data within their request:
o By the police where the AVR (or its agents) are required by law to make a report regarding the commission of a suspected crime; or
o Following a request by the police when a crime or suspected crime has taken place and / or when it is suspected that illegal / anti-social behaviour is taking place on AVR property; or
o To the HSE, ORR and / or any other statutory body; or
o To assist the General Manager in establishing facts in cases of unacceptable behaviour; or
o To satisfy data subjects (or their legitimate representatives), pursuant to a Subject Access Request; or
o To individuals (or their legitimate representatives), subject to a court order; or
o To the AVR’s insurance company, where the insurance company requires data in order to pursue a claim for damage done to the insured property.
We will use reasonable efforts to ensure that your personal data is not disclosed to regional/national institutions and authorities, unless required by law or other regulations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by placing a prominent notice on our web site.
