Group & School Visits

Bring your group, club or society and travel back in time to the days of steam on a day out at the Avon Valley Railway. We’re an ideal location for a group visit and can cater for parties large or small. We’re in a great location less than an hour from Gloucester, Swindon, Taunton and Cardiff, easily accessible from all routes including the M4, Bristol and Bath. We provide free coach parking, as well as complimentary meals and travel tickets for the driver. Make your visit even more special by booking a delicious cream tea served on the train as you travel the line. Generous discounts are available to groups of 20 or more.

Train and Cream Tea

We can also offer a combined ‘Train and Cream Tea’ ticket
Enjoy a cream tea on-board whilst having a pleasurable journey on a resorted steam train on the Avon Valley Railway.
You will be greeted by an Avon Valley Railway host. The steam train is waiting in our country station, and you are escorted to your reserved seats in the period carriages. The guard blows his whistle and the train gently pulls away. Sit back, relax and enjoy the tranquillity as your waiter offers you some refreshment – two large scones with butter, jam and cream, washed down with a cup of tea or coffee.

Take the opportunity to browse in the souvenir shop or just relax on the station platform, taking in the atmosphere.
The ‘Train & Cream Tea’ trips are available for groups of 20 or more.
