  • Current Opportunities

We are currently looking for more friendly, customer-facing volunteers!

We would like to have a Platform Host, based on the station platform, every day we run trains. You’ll welcome our visitors, explain where things are and help keep the station environs tidy. We’d also like you to give short 5 minute talks to the public about the railway and its history as well as explaining more about that day’s locomotive and carriages.

You don’t need to have lots of knowledge about trains or history, just an enthusiasm for meeting the public and sharing information. You must be able to communicate well, be of smart appearance and be happy to learn more about the railway.

If you’d like to know more please email us and Sue Sedley, our Volunteers Co-ordinator, will be in touch.
