PERMANENT WAY SUPERVISOR
2 days or 20 hours a week • £23.5k FTE • Initially Fixed Term 2 years
(Will involve weekday and weekend working)
We’re looking for an efficient and organised team leader to manage the maintenance of the railway’s Permanent Way and associated infrastructure (track, platforms, buildings, bridges, culverts, drains, ditches, fences and lineside vegetation). Ideally you’ll have previous experience of working within a railway environment (heritage or mainline), but other engineering and/or project management backgrounds would equally be considered.
You’ll manage (and grow) a team of volunteers to complete tasks including ongoing repairs to track and lineside structures as well as larger renewal projects as these arise.
As an operational railway we work within a strict framework so you’ll create systems to manage, record and monitor work activities to work within our Safety Management System and meet our legal obligations.
