10 & 11 November
‘SOUTHERN SUBURBAN VETERANS’
Two visiting locomotives will be joining us this year;
0-6-0T LB&SCR A1X CLASS TERRIER 32678
This is the first time the Avon Valley Railway has hosted a Terrier and the first Southern Region engine to visit in the last 20 years. Could it be the first time a Terrier has come to Bristol? With thanks to our friends at the Kent & East Sussex Railway and the Terrier Trust for making this visit possible.
2-4-0WT LSWR BEATTIE 30587
Another first for Bitton as a Beattie has never run on our metals. We extend our thanks to our friends at the Bodmin & Wenford Railway and the National Railway Museum for making this visit possible.
Some of our home fleet will also be in operation and there will be Brake Van rides too.
During the day there will be a limited number of exclusive Footplate Rides onboard both our visiting and home fleet locomotives. Only one ticket is available per journey making this a unique opportunity to get up close to the workings of a steam locomotive. Tickets cost £35 for guest locomotives and £30 for WD 132 ‘Sapper’ from the resident fleet. This includes the footplate ride as well as a combined Day Rover ticket giving unlimited passenger train rides on the day in question.
