Bitton Bistro

Join us for our Two Course Bitton Bistro If you want a meal to remember, look no further than our Bitton Bistro dining trains. Departing at 12:15 on several Sundays throughout the year, this dining experience involves a number of 6-mile round trips, each lasting approximately an hour, a delicious two-course meal and coffee & mints.

Children's Birthday Parties

Give your child a birthday party to remember on one of our trains. We can provide reserved seating for up to 16, 32 or 64 people in one of our 1950s railway carriages on most steam and diesel operating days between Easter and October. Sessions can be booked for either morning (11:00 to 13:15) or afternoon (14:45 to 17:00).

Murder Mystery

Set within the classic detective genre, you are invited to join us for an evening of mystery and murder. The victim(s) and suspects will gather just before departure on the station platform for an exciting evening aboard the Avon Valley Express.

Real Ale Festival

2012 Real Ale Festival The 9th Bitton Beer Festival will be taking place on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th June at the Avon Valley Railway's Bitton Station. Thanks to a new sponsor for 2012 we are aiming to make this event even bigger and better than before. We are planning to host around 30 ales from our local breweries as well as little further afield.

Santa Special

Steam into Christmas with the Avon Valley Railway Ho-ho-ho! Come and see Santa on the Avon Valley Railway! Every child wants to see Father Christmas at Christmas time, but busy shops with long queues full of children waiting up to a couple of hours can quickly drain you of your Christmas cheer.

Sherry & Mince Pie Specials

DON'T FORGET! After the indulgence of Christmas Day why not take the family for a relaxing trip on the Avon Valley Railway? Our popular Sherry and Mince Pie Specials will be running on the following dates: 26th, 27th, 29th and 30th December, 1st January 2013. Trains will depart Bitton at 11.00am, 12.15pm, 1.30pm and 2.45pm.

Steam & Cuisine

Sunday Luncheon If you are looking for that special First Class dining experience, then look no further than the Avon Valley Railway's Steam 'n' Cuisine service. We aim to make your meal a memorable, marvellous and mouthwatering experience! Join us in our refurbished dining coaches, reserved only for Steam 'n' Cuisine patrons.

Vintage Bus Rally

Our annual Vintage Bus Rally provides the visitor with a rare opportunity to see and travel on a number of different forms of heritage transport in one day. Organised jointly by the Avon Valley Railway and the Bristol Vintage Bus Group, the focus of the event will be a static display of vintage buses at the Brislington Park and Ride site, just off the A4 between Bristol and Bath. This will also be the main parking site for visitors on the day, which is free.

Teddy Bears Picnic

It's a Great Day Out For Kids! Come and visit us on this special occasion. Children who bring their Teddy Bears will travel FREE of charge on the trains. There will also be a number of other activities to keep the children amused. Further details will be advertised here once they have been confirmed. Steam trains will begin operating on Sunday at 11.00 am, with the last train of the day at 4.00pm. On this day we will have two trains operating - steam and diesel - so you can have twice as much fun for the same price.
