Facilities for Disabled People
While we've made many efforts to ensure that the Avon Valley Railway is accessible to all, there's still one area where we aren't yet able to accomodate everybody. Our loos are authentic, and owe a lot to their original Midland Railway heritage, and as such, are not the easiest to access for people in wheelchairs. It is possible, but you might want to consider making yourself comfortable before you arrive at the station! We're very sorry about this - in the long-term we hope to upgrade our lavatory facilities, but we're dependent entirely on the generosity and support of our visitors to make that financially possible. That said, we still strive to make sure that you have an enjoyable and pleasant day out at the Avon Valley Railway. If you are a wheelchair user, or have any disability which makes getting around difficult, or perhaps you're a carer for someone else, we'd love to hear your views regarding your day out with us. Whether it's good news or bad, we take all criticism and acclaim seriously, and we'll do our best to provide you with the services you expect, if they aren't already available please contact us. And of course, if you're on site and there's anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask one of our station or on-train staff for assistance. We'll be glad to help. last updated: andy stone, Mon 27th Dec 2004 |
