Disabled access

Wheelchair on the platformAt the Avon Valley Railway we believe everyone should have a good time, and feel comfortable and safe while doing so. Our specially-modified guard's brake-van has been fitted out with a spacious area for wheelchairs, comfortable seating for carers or friends, and ramps to make boarding simple. Our platforms have ramps - to street level, as well as the usual ones you find at the end of most railway platforms! The Bitton station booking hall has wide double-doors which can be opened fully at a moment's notice. We also have disabled toilet facilities available in our Buffet.

We strive to make sure that you have an enjoyable and pleasant day out at the Avon Valley Railway. If you are a wheelchair user, or have any disability which makes getting around difficult, or perhaps you're a carer for someone else, we'd love to hear your views regarding your day out with us. Whether it's good news or bad, we take all criticism and acclaim seriously, and we'll do our best to provide you with the services you expect, if they aren't already available please contact us. And of course, if you're on site and there's anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask one of our station or on-train staff for assistance. We'll be glad to help.
